Update

I have sold some of my Canon gear and bought a X100 to bring for this vacation to the US. Renting a M9 and lenses was a good idea but expensive for 3-4 weeks vacation.

There are many differences M9/X100 but X100 was available now and I can not find any Summicron 35 before leaving for our holidays. The M9 is available everywhere in Sweden but sadly none of the lenses that I want.

I assume I can evaluate some of the experience using a M9 + Summicron 35 using the X100. I will use the X100 for a year and hope that Leica can produce more lenses so that they are available next summer.

For our vacation to the US we will travel very light and bring X100, LX3 and G7.

I will keep the Canon EOS 20D (1.6 x crop) and three Canon lenses 70-200/f4.0L IS, 50/1.4 and the 35/2.0. This gives me a field of view equivalent to 56mm, 80mm, 112-320mm.

I think this will complement my future Leica M9/M10 in a good way adding normal, portrait and medium tele for wildlife, tennis, children and other action.

Perhaps a Crop 20D is even better complementing a future M than using my FF 5DMKII and 35, 50 and 70-200?

I am in the process of selling all my larger and heavier gear: 5DMKII, 35/1.4L, 135/2.0L, 16-35/2.8L, 400/5.6L to found next years Leica M.

Thanks again for all friendly and really good advice.

Best Regards
Pierre
