HX9V - question about cont shooting mode

I was going to buy the HX9V yesterday. I went to the store and to check out the camera and when I used the continuous shooting mode the camera switched the resolution to something lower than 16mp (vga or something.. i dont remember).

I am not sure if I am delusional and/or mistaken. I thought it was suppose to do 10fps at 16mp.

Could someone that owns this camera (or is in "the know") please confirm the truth one way or the other?
