Battery warning -- should I panic?
Jun 5, 2011

While browsing on various sites I stumbled across a comment that said you should never, ever use rechargeable alkaline batteries in a k100D. It said they could damage the camera. Is that true???

That is all I have ever used, in both my camera and my off-camera flash. I have several sets of the AA rechargeables and a couple of chargers. It seems better than using non-rechargeable lithiums.

While cost is definitely a factor for me, I would switch to another type of battery tomorrow if I am risking damage to my camera by using alkalines. (BTW, I take the batteries out of the flash if I don't plan to use it much, and I use the camera at least every few days, so I don't think corrosion would be a problem.)
