HX100V - Viewfinder Auto Select

I'm sure many of you have already found this out, there is a sensor next to the Eyepiece and if you raise the camera up to your eye, it switches off the screen and switches on the viewfinder Automatically.

I found this out by accident when taking shots from waist height with the Viewing screen twisted through 90 degrees. Unfortunately - becasue the camera was so close to my body - the sensor thought I wanted to use the eye piece and switched viewing modes.
This is a bit annoying but not the end of the world.
