d7000 high iso vs low iso + fill light
Jun 1, 2011

Hi everyone, just wanted to ask for people's opinions on this topic. A thought came to me and I was thinking if i want to go for the highest quality print possible in my given conditions (handheld, 1/60 shutterspeed, aperture is constant) would you opt for a high iso shot (e.g. iso 800) and have a good even exposure, or would you opt to underexpose a few stops and bring it down to iso 100-200, and utilise the dynamic range of the d7000 to recover shadow details. My main concern is that high iso tends to smooth out details, I was just wondering which option would give better results.

Thanks guys.

Wayne.
