Now I have exposed down the photo and adjusted the exposure to not clip the Picture Control skintones. Still think the original non Picture Control is mush better. And it's not possible to adjust the curve to make the Picture Control picture look anything like the Non Picture Control picture. The color tones in the skin area is TOTALLY different.

Did you try adjusting the Hue and Saturation settings along with the curve? It's a little coarse, but it may make enough of a difference. Also, how much time did you spend tweaking the tone curve in Picture Control Utility? This is not a trivial 30 second exercise. You will have to work at it. Make sure you pay proper attention to what the curve is doing to the shadows vs. the midtones vs. the highlights. It will probably require several curve points.

I'm looking at these (admitedly not on a calibrated monitor), and I really don't see the reason for such break-out unhappiness. They're not identical, but I can't really see why one is terrific and the other completely unacceptable. The Portrait results seems a tad darker, which may be solved with the simulated D2XMODE1 custom control (D2XM1SIM) I linked earlier.
