4 Planets, our Moon and 4 of Jupiter's Moons...

This is my first attempt at taking planet shots. Taken with 5D Mark II, 100-400mm lens and 2x Extender II.

Viewed this morning from here in Christchurch, New Zealand, Mars is on the left, Venus up the top, and down the bottom right corner is Mercury.

The next photo is of Jupiter! This is roughly 900 million km away. But looking closer, I thought Jupiter seems to have rings in this photo :/ Then I realized they are some of the moons orbiting around Jupiter. Wow!!

In fact the moon Io is up above the planet, then both Europa and Ganymede under it into the slightly larger blob. Then further away and faintly lit up, below and to the right of Jupiter is Callisto.

Finally, I took this shot of the Moon using the same setup back on May 12th.
