That sucks man... you certainly need more time there as there is the Haut Koenigsbourg Castle, Montagne des Singes (Monkey Mountain), Jardins de Papillons (Butterfly Garden), Grand Ballon (nice views) all close to Colmar.

If you ever get a chance to go back rent a place for a week and i can recommend a 4 bed house i have used so give me a shout if need be.

Lovely pics and i too love the last one best. Is the 2nd last one from up in the clock tower?

Riquewhir and Colmar is where i rode the motorbike too every year with a few others. I love the mountain roads out there and some are very challenging. Have been once by car with the wife and had the dslr then but never take it on the motorbike just in case it gets damaged.

Thanks Tony for kind words. Yes, it is, the tower is from 1291, and clearly the walls show it was built to survive some hard hitting.

The scenery is outstanding, I had a GPS to go from Colmar to Riquewihr so that I could go into the many small roads, I wish I had more time to stay there, this was basically a 5hr tour of Colmar and Riquewihr including lunch.
