Sigma 17-50 v Canon 17-55

Sigma 17-50 v Canon 17-55

May 19, 2011

I am still learnin so please bare with me... I'm going to get myself a Canon 60D body only because of all the negative remarks on the kit lenses - rather get myself a decent lens from the start. Is it worth it to go for the Sigma 17-50 rather than the Canon 17-55 to safe a bit of money. Is there a significant differense between the two lenses?
