I need help choosing a Lens for Portraits
May 18, 2011

Hey everyone,

I am new to this, but have trolled around here for a while. You guys are super awesome.

I shoot senior, family, newborn, headshots, corporate, and food. I have $1,800 (cash, cause I dont do credit (thanks dave ramsey). And I want a lens that will give me some AMAZING shots, so I can raise my prices. (until the new A900 is relased, I am sticking with my A550). Im having a hard time narrowing to which lens. I have read so many reviews, and flikr'ed too many hours. (again flikr and compression...cant trust those, not to mention havent seen anything SOOC.

Can you please chime in and let me know why you chose your 70-200 and why, and maybe post a link to a nice portrait work. Senior and on location modeling is all about DOF. Knocking out everything in the background. so that is important to me.

thanks in advance.
