d300s compared to d7000 and NOISE

I'm in need of another body and was holding out for a d400, but it's not looking good as I need the body in a month.

I'm really looking for low light photography, so my biggest issue is how high can I shoot with the 7000 with lack of noise.

I currently have a d300, (and will be keeping it). I am comfortable shooting to 800 ISO with it, and as high at ISO 1250 in a pinch to set a benchmark.

What I hoping, is that someone in this forum has both, and might be able to tell me something like...d300s ISO 500 is compared to d7000 ISO XXX.
