Olympus official word on Chinese "4/3rds continues interview"
May 10, 2011

So nothing new. 4/3rds is still scheduled to dissappear and the future is pen

If I read this right combined with all the data points of the last six months we will (maybe) see an e-50 that will be the exact counter part of the e-5 (weaker aa, probably the same sensor and minimum r&d if any) and will be overpriced just like the e-5- $1199 msrp would be my bet but $1099 or $1299 wouldn't surprise me. Just like the e-5 there is no reason for Olympus to be price competitive with it since it goes to the 4/3rds owner

This if they release any new 4/3rds model at all before the pro-pen

I would say it would be a good move if cost is cheap to do decision wise as it keeps the brand alive, the 4/3rds trademark alive marketing wise and allows them to sell the lenses moving them closer to out of stock

Unless it's a trivial sensor revup I dont expect an e-7 to come out
