RE: Taking photograph of kids next door on their new trampoline-police trouble

I wondering if someone with knowledge or experience could advise me. I took a picture of kids next door playing on their new trampoline with other kids on the street. Best angle was over looking it from upstairs window. I printed it out and gave it to the family next door who were pleased with it. That was until the kids parents down the road from me decided to complain to the police. The picture was not unhealthy in any way at all. I was trying to catch the moment as we all do with my new camera. Whist my next door neighbour is Ok with me the other one is not and insisted he complain. So, where do i go from here when police arrive. The other woman down street was quite rude to me on my doorstep and I did tell her I was sorry but quite normal to take action shots as its my hobby with no disrespect. Advice please. I live in UK.
