X100 doesn't turn on after charging battery for 2.5 hours

My X100 arrived today. I got impatient after waiting 2.5 hours for the battery to charge. So I put the battery in the camera and it does not turn on. Shouldn't 2.5 hours of charging be enough for the camera to turn on?
I'm charging it again and I notice that battery is barely warm while charging. The counter top is 78 degrees and the battery is 84 degrees.
