hx9V..Can someone explain the LUN setting??

Can someone add more clarity to the HX9v's in camera guide which advises

"when camera connected to computer set LUN (logical unit number) to multi to display images on both memory card and internal memory"

when would one want to set this option to the multi option??
when would one want to set to single option??
