Tamron AF18-270mm f/3.5-6.3 Di-II

I have the Tamron AF18-270mm f/3.5-6.3 Di-II lens on a D5100 & it seems to work fairly well.
I noticed the new PZD model when I purchased the D5100 & was impressed by the small size.
I have searched the internet & really cant find anything that really compares the two except the PDZ model focuses a little faster.
I am wondering if I would be wasting my money by upgrading?
Any opinions will be appreciated
