Nikon P500 vs Canon SX30IS?

I bought a Canon SX30IS back at Christmas. I do like the camera, however, continuous shoot is slow.

I note the new Nikon P500 is CMOS-based, however, recent attempts to put CMOS-type sensors into bridge and compact cameras have not given the best results. It's a fast camera, though battery life could be better. However, the Nikon seems unexpectedly to be coming out okay in the reviews I've seen.

Thoughts on these two similar zoom cameras.
