The Lenses I Took to Italy

Last year I took a 70-300VR, Tamron 28-75 f/28, 20mm f/2.8 AF and a 50 f/1.4G to Italy. I wound up never using the 50, but I would bring it again as a back up. About half way through the trip the 70-300VR broke and I shot mainly with the 28-75. You might observe that all of this glass is relatively compact, light and affordable. I am going to Europe soon, and will be taking the same four lenses.

This shot, "Scooter Serenade" is actually semi candid or interactive. She looked over at me and smiled while I was shooting, and no doubt was acting the part.

This link is to a gallery of 32 images from the first part of the Italy trip. The 70-300VR was still partially functional. Shots taken with the 20mm are obvious. There are only a few done with the 28-75, most notably the night street shot.

Some of the images are not work safe, although there is no nudity. Despite the candid look of some shots, no person was photographed without their knowing about it before hand.
