It's true. Not only photography that suffer from such issue.

I have a friend running a small photo printshop whining about the customers' behaviour that are changing. The customers' may have inferior photo software or hardware, but in some cases they prefer to do some works by themselves instead of being charged for even only a small amount of money compared to a much bigger printshops would ask (probably changing the background color of the photo, etc.). Surprisingly enough, such small charge of money broke his entire deal of prints.

His monthly income also decreasing significantly. I believe many people now have done mostly anything on their own, and prefer to keep thousands of photos in digital instead, and since the softwares or hardwares are a lot easier to get now, even though not as good as the professional ones. As long as they feel it's perfect, then it will do.

It's whether you quit photography as your main job, or rethinking about new strategy and breakthrough. Change is a must, IMO.
