Camera for Africa safari - s95?
Apr 30, 2011

I'll be going to Africa for safari and looking at getting a new camera. My only camera is a sd940 and I don't know anything (yet!) about doing manual settings on camera. I'm looking at getting the s95 and wondering if this would be a decent choice?

Basically my requirements are

1. great low light (for early low morning/dusk drives) - I have a tendency to get many blurry low-light shots on my s940 (maybe shaky hand)
2. Very portable as I'll have very limited space in my luggage.
3. $400 max

I realize s95 has only 4x zoom. However, the safari drives I'll be going on go off-road and close to the animals, so maybe not too much problem (my first safari). I figured s95 would make a good permanent camera for afterwards also, though I don't want to have regrets of choosing poorly for the safari.

Thanks for any suggestions.
