Basic equipment for a pro/wedding photographer

Hello All

My firs post on here (woo hoo)

I have been into photography for a few years now, I started with a little digital compact and then upgraded myself to a DSLR (Sony A300).

I am now looking to take it one step further and start earning a little money off the back of my hobby. I have agreed to shoot my friends wedding next month as it is a small ceremony and reception, but it has got me looking into it for a more serious point of view.

What DSLR would you say is the bare minimum you would expect to see being used by a professional photographer?

I have taken really stunning shots with my entry level sony and had them blown up to over A4 size and they still look good, but if I was to book a photographer and a friend turned up with a more expensive camera then the photographer I would think it a bit odd
