I have read several places that the Minolta MD 24mm 2.8 was one of the finest lenses Minolta ever made in the MD series and I've been looking for one. I finally got one in good shape that was made after they dropped the Rokkor name and went from a 55 mm thread to a 49, but optically it remained the same.

Some say that the 55 is better than the 49, but others say there is no difference, and still some say the 49mm is better on sensors the size on a NEX.

I just got mine this minoring and played around out behind the office and early results are truly good, but nothing worth photographing.

If you want to see what this lens will do either read Ken Rockwell's review or go to Flickr and search for Minolta MD 24mm and look at the photos taken with that lens. It is very sharp even wide open at 2.8 and the colors are those that made Minolta famous. Leica even copied it later on.
