What is the largest & fastest card in your HS20/HS10
Apr 24, 2011

I did an experiment yesterday using different SD cards
This is very unscientific because I used cards from different companies
I tried a 4 gig Class 2 SD card (Ativa)
A 8 gig Class 6 card (Kodak(re-branded Lexar)
A 16 Gig Class 10 card (PNY)

What I was able to determine is that it is the write speed that matters when you shoot RAW and Continious or Burst mode.

What I found was the Fuji guys were right in saying that a class 6 card was needed for video.
Video with the class 6 card is smooth

Most people will be just fine with a class 2 or class 4 card because they are not pushing the camera.

If you are trying to get the most out of the camera you will need one of the better quality Class 10 cards.
Knowing what I no now
I will return the 16 gig Class 10 and get a 32 gig Class 10 from another Company
Im looking for a write speed of 22MBS or faster.
The HS20 has been optimized for use with Sandisk cards
All the speed numbers given by Fuji assume you are using a Sandisk Card
http://www.fujifilm.com/support/digital_cameras/compatibility/card/s/

I would love to get the Sandisk that has the write speed of 30 or 45 MBS but the card would have to be on sale.
As a result you will have to adjust your expectations when using other cards.

btw

Here is a link to a Nikon guy who did a much better job of looking at cards than I did
