No. That doesn't work, I'm afraid.

The term "single lens" only ever qualified the kind of "reflex." It never ever qualified the kind of camera itself, because THAT was defined by the term "reflex."

Let me try to make that clearer....

"I hear you have a new camera. What kind of camera is it?"
"It's a reflex camera."
"But there's more than one kind of reflex, isn't there?"
"You're right. Being more specific, it's a Single Lens Reflex camera."

See what I mean? If we remove the "reflex" feature of a camera, it's clear we don't need the "Single Lens" definer anymore. It is not just redundant, it is confusing.

Indeed, "single lens" ceases to have any meaning until some Translucent or Direct kind of camera needing more than one lens to operate arrives on the scene.... (twin lenses? three? eight?)

That's what happened to reflex cameras in the the 20th century. It wasn't until 1929, when the the Rollieflex twin lens reflex was introduced, that the normal reflex, which had been around for ages, suddenly had to be more precisely specified as a "single lens" kind.
