Nikon 200mm lens cap question

I took the advice of an FM contributor and went into publix and bought a large can of Folgers coffee to get the cover to put on the lens hood of the 200mm..sure enough,a perfect fit.I will give the coffee away cause once you drink starbucks normal coffee is just awful..still. for $12 its a good deal.

Now my question.....I don't like to have my lens hood on the camera all the time as it greatly adds to the length..does anybody know if a lens cap is sold or fabricated for this lens??I tried a smaller coffee can and it did not fit.Just seems peculiar that Nikon or a 3rd part never sold a large lens cap for this lens as I'am sure there are many 200mm owners like me who really enjoy not having the lens on but want the security of a lens cap.

So, perhaps somebody,Trenchmonkey, is aware of a product that is sold that has a plastic cover like the one for the lens hood.

Any input appreciated.
