Small sensor = deeper DOF, right?

My experience leads me to believe that my smaller sensor compacts provide deeper DOF in like shooting situations than does my SLR (40D). However I have seen that some folks call that a "myth".

So I did some math at DOF Master.

Assumptions: Shooting at 105mm (full frame equiv) at f5.0 focus at 10feet.

S95, 22.5 focal length= 3.74 feet DOF

Canon 1DS (full frame), 105 mm focal length= .81 feet DOF

The math tells me the S95 has much deeper DOF. What am I missing?
