Cropping in PS CS5
Apr 16, 2011

I use PS CS5 to edit & print my photos. Kind'a a newbie to CS5 but learning it is going along smoothly - except for a question I have about cropping. I've tried Adobe forums and searching the net (i.e. Google & Yahoo) but haven't yet found an answer - maybe someone here can help.

I know how the crop tool works in CS5 and use it to crop an area of image to the size I'm printing. However, on occasion I want to crop an image to an exact dimension. Let's say my image is 4288 by 2848 at 300 ppi - what I want to do is frame a crop area that is exactly 1800 by 1200 ppi. I haven't been able to figure out how it's done (or if it can be done) in CS5. Hopefully someone here has an answer - it's probably very simple - but I haven't been able to find an answer where I've been looking. Thanks in advance for your help - JMDavis
