7D+Tamron AF 70-300mm SP Di VC at the zoo-pics
Apr 12, 2011

This is my first non-canon lens that I've used on my 7D. I've had my eye on it for a long time and finally picked it up last week. I've been really happy and impressed with it so far. The only quirk is that when the image stabilization settles in the pictures kind of jerks momentarily. I thought it might have been defective at first but after reading reviews I now its normal for this lens. I've had other 70-300 lenses in the past and this easily beats all of them hands down. I went to the zoo this weekend with my family to see what kind of image quality I could get at 300mm and I'm really happy with the results. I think this is quite a respectable lens and changes the mediocre reputation that these type of lenses tend to hold. These are jpgs straight out of the camera. These were all taken at 300mm. The one of the jaguar was taken through a chain-link fence.
