thx for the info ..yes, I can see now that all remote Pany switches ie DMW-RSL1 have 4 conductor plugs.

I will hold off on the timer model at this time, but I want to get used to a hand trigger, but won't just get the $3 cheapo to see how long it lasts, since the ratings on Amazon are poor, but the $12 model may be of interest:

too bad the fn key can't be programmed to do the 2 sec delay
