Brand vs DIY?

I am considering in buying a new PC with this sort of spec: Intel Core i5 2500, 4GB of Ram, 1TB harddrive and 1Gb DDR3 VGA. My question is it better to go for branded PC [such as HP or Dell]? To my experience, these branded PC are tend to be more reliable then DIY - or is it just my thought?
