Active D-Lighting question for D7K
Apr 5, 2011
|
I was considering upgrading from Photoshop CS4 to CS5 to get the camera raw capability for the D7K. Then noticed this in a thread:
"I have CS5 and the current version of ACR and it certainly doesn't render the effects of Active D-lighting when opening a RAW file. The only time I see ADL rendered is in Nikon's own applications (View/Capture NX2) or in JPGs out of the camera."
and read this in the manual:
P 305 of the d7K manual states that "3rd party software does not display effects of picture control or Active D-Lighting"
Based on the above.....If I shoot RAW, and use Active D-lighting, I must convert from nef to tif/jpg in ViewNX2/captureNX2 to get the effect. If I convert with Adobe capture raw, the effects of Active D-lighting I see on the D7K preview screen will be absent. Is that correct? Thank you.
