50-200mm: Has yours fallen apart?

During my recent vacation, my 50-200mm fell apart. I could hear a screw rattling around in the body, then it began to separate just in front of the tripod mount (back of the zoom ring). AF went first than MF.

I'm probably going to send it in this week. Has you're 50-200mm (non-SWD) fallen apart? Please tell me about it. Could this be a manufacturing or design weakness (like the E-3 LCD separation)?

I never abused or dropped the lens.
