1D Left Half noise, banding BUMMER

Finally took the plunge, ordered the 1D from B&H, which arrived Monday. After conditioning the battery, I took it on a 2 hour hike and shot a lot of frames. When I checked them today, I saw what I have been dreading after reading the posts on this board—noise and banding on half of the frame at high ISO (one frame at 1600, the other at ISO 800). I checked every frame I shot, and saw this on 2 frames out of 118, about the same percentage as what others have reported. The worse of the two had very noticeable left half banding and noise in blue sky areas, not in very dark areas. Serial # 18xxx.

I guess I'll get an RMA and send it back tomorrow, keeeping my fingers crossed that the next one will be okay.
