There is usually more than 1 "version" of each Nikon lens.

This site identifies 3 versions of the "Mk 1" and 2 versions of the Mk II.

According to Nikon the Mk II changes are the transport lock, the improved rear element coating and marginally better corner MTF at 30 lpm.
