Sell old 400D or keep as backup to 60D?

I have traveled all over the world (almost) and I have never had a camera fail me. But this summer I am on my way to Russia and Scandinavia and I will be shooting semi-professionally (half for fun and half for the next revision of my textbook on PowerPoint). I try to travel light, but I'm sure I can carry and extra camera if necessary. Would you recommend taking my XTi/400D as a backup or as a second camera with a telephoto lens?
