Advice in purchasing a new monitor

Have recently purchased a GH2 camera and Lightroom, Photoshop Elements and Premier and a new desktop computer that has a dedicated video card (1 Gb video RAM and i5 chip with 8 Gb regular RAM - PC). So we are looking for advice for best monitor and size for use of photo editing while sitting at computer desk. This is for personal use only. We are lookiing for a monitor that will let us use Lightroom accurately.
