X1 for street photography
Mar 19, 2011

Most of the reviews of the X1 complain aout the slow AF and write times. I had a love/hate relationship with my Sigma DP1, loving the IQ, but hating the lack of responsiveness. I am concerned that the X1 may be more of the same.

How viable is the X1 for street photography where grab shots are often required? What about low light shots? I know you can use zone focssing as I used to with my DP1 and D-Lux 4, but at the price I would expect the camera to do some work too. How easy is manual focussing with the X1?

I have been offered an almost new X1 with grip and viewfinder for a very good price, but am concerned that it will be too slow. Very tempted, though.

Alternatives I am looking at are the Fuji X100, Panasonic GF1 or the Olympus EP2.
