Why keep so much DPReview thread history?
Mar 19, 2011

A sincere question: why clog up the arteries of DPReview with so much thread history?
Many people obviously never search for answers to their questions, and so a fair portion of all posts cover the same material again, and again.
Technology moves at such a pace that questions that were relevant 3 years ago may well refer to cameras that no longer exist
Much activity is devoted to speculation about new models, closely followed by threads related to availability of new models, then followed by complaints about what the manufacturer ignored from previous whining
After about 18 months what was of very limited value to start with becomes really, really irrelevant.
