Fast Prime Lenses film vs digital.
Mar 17, 2011

I have an old OM1n with a 50mm f1.4 and a 75-150 f4. Is it really worth getting a DSLR when an equally fast 50mm prime by itself costs over $300?
I don't use the OM1n that much anymore; only when I want great bokeh or if I need lens speed to boost the effectiveness of my flash. Then I get my film processed and images put on a CD. Most of my shooting is now with a small digital with a fast zoom range but no bokeh whatsoever.
I'm happy with the quality of my film images; are DSLR images that much better than film SLR images? Are fast digital primes equal or better than their film counterparts?
