Resetting Olympus 14-42 II lens....?

where a reset was used to improve the functioning of this lens.

I'm not sure which reset the author is speaking about - the Reset in af/mf menu refers to having the lens return to infinity.

I don't want to reset the entire camera because I'll lose all my custom settings.

Can someone set me straight on this? I've just bought a "used" lens and want to make sure it's set up optimally for use on my E-PL1.
