Second Sandisk Extreme 60mb/s UDMA - FAILURE
Mar 13, 2011
|
I purchased an 8GB Sandisk extreme 60MB/s UDMA card for a trip to europe last April.
I used it for the second time in Montreal a Month later and after putting it in my card reader I got the message it was not formatted, I resigned myself to the fact the images were lost and reformatted but it wouldnt hold - soon as you turned the camera off and then on again it required formatting - cant trust this card- and sent it off to sandisk, they sent me a replacement unit.
Now I take a trip to Florida with the kids, come home and put the card in the reader, start browsing the images before I move them to the computer and "boom" it freezes then gives me the message that the card is not formatted and cannot be read.
I am hoping I can recover the images somehow?
Is this a fault with UDMA cards? - my other sandisk extreme 3 cards work just fine and I have had them longer.
Thanks
