Does this look like front focusing to you?

I sent my 300mm f/4 to Nikon service because it wouldn't work with a TC. They replaced some electrical components, cleaned and adjusted it and sent it back (also charged me $200). When I used it to photograph some birds, the focus looked a bit off to me so I did one of those informal tests. Here is the result from the D90:

Focus was on the center CD case, the first 0 in '700'

I also sent them one from the D5000 that looks essentially the same. I thought that it was fairly obvious that it wasn't right but Nikon says that it looks fine to them. I was really hoping that I wouldn't have to deal with the focus charts and all the set up.

Am I imagining things? Are focus charts in my future?
