E-5 + 35-100 vs 5D + 70-200
Mar 6, 2011

Here's a quick test I did today.

E-5 + 35-100mm f2 vs Canon 5D (mark 1) + Tamron 70-200mm f2.8

Tamron had been optically the best 70-200mm 2.8 lens for Canon before the new Canon version II was released.

Canon 5D is very easy on the lenses too being only 12mpix on a large sensor area.

Here's the comparison I did taking into an account slower lens and setting both cameras to ISO2000, equal sharpening, RAW, no further adjustments, center crop.

One more thing to note is while both lenses have regular micro motors, Zuiko is far better at autofocusing it might as well be USM/SWD in comparison.

I might one more "real life" shot with a seagull to post soon, so stay tuned.
