What was the last camera that generated as much interest as the X100?

I've been shooting since 1972 and I am trying to recall the last time that a single camera has created this much buzz. For me, the F3HP was the ultimate camera. I would be curious in knowing when you were last motivated in any way by a single camera release. Like many, I am scouring the web watching for image samples of this camera to see if the x100 will be my next go-to camera.
