Vacation downloads

When on a family trip we typically shoot 700+ pics a day (7 cameras with a mix of CF, Memory Sticks and SDHC cards). I have been using the Hyperdrive Space (60gb) for dumping photos to disk and a laptop for viewing. The laptop does not fit in the typical hotel safe so I’m thinking of switching to a tablet.
There appears to be only two tablet choices that support external drives:

• Archos 101 supports a USB HD, my Hyperdrive Space is a USB HD

• Apple iPAD, Hyperdrive makes the iPAD Hard Drive that works with IPAD

Any other suggestions, cost is a concern

• The Archos 101 is 10.1 inch Andriod 2.2 $299

• iPAD (the original) 64gb abt $400 used

• The iPad HD 320gb $199
