Buried my Canon S3 - need replacement advice

I am very sad to report that I have just buried my Canon S3 IS. It met a very quick, painful death when my 13 yo dropped it on concrete. Looking for replacement advice. Speed and zoom length are important to me. So far I have looked at the Canon SX30 IS and the Nikon Coolpix L110. Two things I loved about the S3 were the sports mode (quick successive shots perfect for those soccer pictures) and being able to take a pic while filming in movie mode. One thing I'm hoping to improve on is indoor lighting. Any advice is appreciated.
