poster paper?

What would be the best type of paper to buy if I want to make posters similar to movie, music, sports posters one would find in the mall.
I want to make sure I get the right coating. I think it would be semi gloss?
I also want to get the right thickness. I don't want it to be flimsy like a sheet of paper, but I also don't want it to be thick like a posterboard.
