A question for the MP-E65mm users

I've just bought an MP-E65mm lens, with intention of using it both indoors on tripod, and outdoors (ideally not on tripod!).
I envisage outdoor use will be anything from prone position (insects and plants on the ground) to standing (lichen on walls, trees etc).
I will be using flash, so can shoot at something like 1/800 sec.
At this stage I expect vast majority of use will be in the 1x to 2x range.
My first impressions, using handheld indoors and at table height, are that it makes a massive difference to my focus hit rate if I can pivot forward and backward on my elbows.
With this in mind I was thinking something like a bipod or duopod would be much better than a monopod.
So I looked on B&H and came across this
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/574491-REG/BOGgear_RLD_2_RLD_2_BOG_POD_Bipod_Shooting.html
, then as I'm in the UK I googled and eBay'ed 'bipod' and came up with something like this
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Deer-Stalking-Shooting-Stick-Bipod-25-62-3-Sections-/390152663500?pt=UK_SportingGoods_Hunting_ShootingSports_ET&hash=item5ad6e931cc
and this looks pretty good.
Also came up with a lot of other rifle supports.
Has anyone with lots of experience of this lens any suggestions or better options please?
Thanks
