Too many cameras - best one under $300?

Hey all,

I was originally looking at getting a compact point/shoot camera from Canon, but have decided I might be better off with a Panasonic. There are so many though! Even comparing the specs side by side I have a hard time telling which would be the best bang for buck.

So, of their many, MANY cameras under $300, is there one that stands out above the rest?
