Jasper/Banff/Yellowstone/Tetons - Should I take all my lenses?
Feb 23, 2011

Hi All

We are going on a family camperhome holiday in July for 4 weeks, travelling to Jasper and Banff national parks in Canada, and Yellowstone and the Tetons in the USA. Given recent airline crackdowns on carry-on luggage weight, I want to take as much gear as I can without risking getting told to check it in.

I am planning to take the E-5 with the 14-54 and 50-200 lenses but wasn't sure whether to take the big, heavy 7-14mm. I will also be carrying a portrait grip, batteries, chargers, binoculars etc.

I would appreciate hearing from others who have travelled in this part of the world as to whether an ultra-wide angle lens is required or whether shooting with a wide angle and stitching is a better approach.
